Allen and Nordic Gnome by Tatiana M. is a whimsical children's story about a boy, his dog and the Nordic gnomes that were featured in stories he heard as a child.
The tale takes place during Christmas time. Allen is distraught when his dog Halo falls ill. The moral of the story is that through faith, everything works out in the end. It is a short story, easy to read to your child in one sitting.
Children who are reading on their own will thoroughly enjoy reading this book to themselves. I read it to my 6 year old daughter, Willow. She loved the story, as well as the illustrations. Halo, the dog featured in the story, is a German Shepherd. Since we have two Shepherds on the farm, she especially loved the dog pictures.
The illustrations in this book are absolutely spectacular! The facial expressions and the dog are very detailed.
