Children's Book Review - Through the Rug: 2 Follow that Dog

This blog is a review for the second book in the Through The Rug children's book series by Jill Ammon Vanderwood.

The Through the Rug series features Alyssa, her grandmother and her dog Domino on their adventures to Wishville. Grandma was whipping up magic in her kitchen and it spilled on her rug. They find that the spill transports them to Wishville, a magic land where all your wishes come true.

While having your every wish granted sounds like a dream come true, there can be unintended consequences. Through the Rug 2: Follow That Dog takes place immediately after the conclusion of the first book.

Grandma, Alyssa and Domino are back at Grandma's house. Domino goes through the rug back to Wishville, and Grandma and Alyssa follow him. A robber rubs into the house trying to hide from the police, and ends up going through the rug followed by police officers. Lots of hilarity ensues.

These books are cute and amusing for both children and adults. They are good for children who have started reading independently, as well as for adults to read aloud to their own children or to children in library reading programs.

There is a third book in this series that I haven't had the pleasure to read yet, but if it's like the other two then I'm sure it is a worthwhile read! Here is the link for the second book: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/through-the-rug-2-jill-ammon-vanderwood/1126177121?ean=9781544845357
